The Australian Government released Australia’s first Open Government National Action Plan in December 2016. The Plan was the culmination of joint efforts by Government and civil society (including non-government organisations, business, academia and community groups), and comprises 15 ambitious commitments that collectively set out an agenda for the next two years to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
