The Open Government Forum met on Thursday 19 October 2017 in Canberra. The meeting focussed on the workplan for the development of Australia’s next National Action Plan 2018-20, with discussion revolving around the process of identifying prospective themes and commitments, and continuing efforts to raise awareness of the OGP. Government Forum members also provided updates on each of the current Open Government commitments.
The Independent Reporting Mechanism Researcher for Australia, Mr Daniel Stewart, also updated Forum members on the process of developing his report, which would provide an external assessment of the process used to develop Australia’s first National Action Plan, and subsequent implementation of Open Government commitments. The report is expected in early 2018.
