Final consultations starting soon for our next National Action Plan

Consultations on the finalisation of Australia’s Open Government Plan 2018-20 will be underway soon. We’ll release the full draft Plan for comment on 25 June. In the meantime, please see our draft Open Government commitments, to be considered by the Open Government Forum.

Outcomes from the Open Government Forum Meeting of 12 April 2018

The Open Government Forum met on Thursday 12 April 2018 in Melbourne. The meeting focussed on synthesising and prioritising the results of the online and face-to-face consultations on prospective themes and commitments for Australia's second Open Government National Action Plan.

Outcomes from the Open Government Forum Meeting of 22 February 2018

The Open Government Forum met on Thursday 22 February 2018 in Canberra at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. The meeting focussed on an update of the Develop Ideas phase of the Open Government second National Action Plan Workplan. Forum members discussed ideas for prospective themes and commitments in the context of the online and face-to-face public consultations that are currently underway.

Here’s how we’ll develop our second National Action Plan 2018-20

Australia’s first Open Government National Action Plan 2016-18 – which contains 15 ambitious commitments to promote transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption, and harness new technology to strengthen governance – will conclude in July 2018.

In preparation, we’ll soon be asking for new ideas on how we can open up government, for inclusion in our second National Action Plan!
